Launch of a New Educational Digital Application – Kryptolexo

A new application, Kryptolexo (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.Strigiformgames.kryptolexo), comes to fill a gap that exists in the connection of knowledge of ancient Greek with play. Ancient Greek is practiced in a playful way, at the level of visual identification and word recognition but also understanding from the context of works of ancient Greek literature, such as Homer's Odyssey and Iliad, the Epitaph of Pericles and the Peloponnesian War of Thucydides, both in Greek and English.

It is aimed at secondary school students who are taught these texts, as well as any user who studies ancient Greek language and literature.

"They gave me Greek as my language"
the poor house on the sandy beaches of Homer.
My only concern is my language on the sandy beaches of Homer…"

(Odysseas Elytis, The Worthy One)

It hopes to achieve the practice of the ancient Greek language in the present, as Elytis very subtly states, a language of which we find evidence in the majority of written sources from antiquity to the Middle Ages and whose evolution – the modern Greek language – we speak and write today. This is achieved by starting from the study of leading works of world cultural heritage.

It was developed by a specialized educational team and excellent programmers and is available for free download on Android devices from 01/06/2018.

(The iOS version will be completed in the near future – a further announcement will follow.)
